ジェスターズはニューヨーク市のドゥーワップ・グループで、ハーレムのクーパー中学校Cooper Junior High School の生徒でした。アポロシアター the Apollo Theaterのアマチュアコンテストでポール・ウィンリー Paul Winley が発掘して、彼のウィンリー・レコード Winley Recordsと契約しました。
